It takes time to put together a weekly magazine - regardless of the fact it is printed on paper or posted electronically. Saturday night track results are usually fully updated by Monday afternoon. Special features, such as weekend events on Sunday or a Monday holiday will be available on the following Wednesday.

Weekly News & Action Photos

Next week at Crystal Motor Speedway is the big Memorial Day weekend with racing on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is a regular event with all six classes on hand. Sunday is the first of the “Say YES! To Kids Night” with kids riding on one of their favorite drivers cars from 6 to 7PM , sponsored by Chemical Bank. Gates open at 4:30 and racing starts at 7:30 on both nights. Adult admission is $10 with kids 4-11 $4. Pit passes are $25. If you can’t make it to the races, you can listen live on StreamNetRADIO.com. If you need further information, call the track at (989) 235-5200 or visit the website.

We are gaining experience with the StreamNet webcast of the races and can now offer our advertisers 30, 60, and 90 second spots at a very reasonable price. There is a small set up fee, and the per price cost is as little as $5 each week. Each spot includes a graphic link here on the CMS site and on the StreamNet player window.

Photo Trophies Available Again. Got a favorite car and driver?

Why not purchase a 'Photo Trophy' and get it personalized with a signature? We started this service from the photo booth last year and everybody really likes them. We have designs for about 20 of the drivers so far, and will be adding another six or so each week for the next several weeks. Some of the designs feature manufacturer or model badging, others are storms, flags, and flags. If you want a custom design, drop your written request at the photo booth and we can have it next week. We currently have designs in stock for these drivers:

  • Brennan Bowen
  • Scott Baker
  • Kevin Nelson Jr
  • Tim Hansen
  • Rusty Seaver
  • Kevin Rohn
  • Bill Trueblood Jr
  • Chad Mauer
  • Paul Tucker
  • Scott Haney
  • Roger Flinn III
  • Rick Stout
  • Jamie McCormick
  • Joe Pomeroy

Site Improvements In Progress

After a half season or so of madness, it becomes obvious that an attempt to hack our server last year corrupted the CMS site much more than we had thought. On top of that, it's just time to do some housecleaning. So... expect the site may be down for a few hours this week as we take everything down and replace it as it should be seen. Thanks for understanding.

See you at the track next week.

May 19th Results

The large crowd of fans at Crystal Motor Speedway found themselves on their feet for most of the feature events Saturday evening as race after race came down to the wire. Mittler Supply of Grand Rapids was the sponsor of the evenings’ happenings.

FEATURE WINNER - Rusty Seaver

The race that will be the buzz around the garages all week long will be the battle in the Late Model division between Rick Stout and Rusty Seaver. Chris Rinard led a goodly portion of the first half of the race until Seaver caught him to take the point. Stout, winner of three features already, had moved from twelfth to second as he also moved by Rinard. The veteran racers moved deftly through heavy traffic, each trying to make the other make a move that might trap themselves, but still found their cars nose to tail with three to go. Seaver bobbled momentarily in turn three and Stout tapped him in the rear but allowed the leader to right himself before renewing his attack. Stout made several charges but Seaver was able to out gun him for the win. Bill Trueblood, Jr. was close behind for third, followed by Paul Tucker, Mark Andersen, Dona Marcoullier, Ryan VanderVeen, Rinard, Brian Nickerson, and Adam Thrush.

Scott Haney took the B Main while Trueblood, Zach Olger, and Tucker scored heat gold.

Still Smooth at 64!

FEATURE WINNER - Jeff Reist

The man they call ‘Mr. Smooth’ proved he is also ‘Mr. Excitement’ as the 64 year old Jeff Reist worked his way through a tough field of competitors and then put a move on event leader Mike Corder to squeeze his way to the front. Corder and then Vern Buskirk both tried to reel in the high flying Reist without success. Buskirk settled for second, followed by Joseph Pomeroy, Corder, Mike Husted, Barry Rinard, Richard Buerge, Pete Hundey, Scott Bouck, and Andy Hoisington.

Corder and Husted gathered heat wins.
